One week after the Portland Marathon I started to do some jogs again. In the past I have taken longer of a break but this time I wanted to start up again to stay in shape and be ready to train for the Mt. Hood 50k.
I have been doing a few distances, 3 miles, 6 miles, 8 miles, and 10 miles. When I do the longer stances my left knee has been giving me a little bit of pain after a few miles. Usually I have problems in my right knee but I think that during the Portland Marathon since I had some right knee pain as the miles added on I started to over compensate on the left and now I am paying a little bit for it.
All I can do is ice, use the roller and stretch out my IT band as I think that is the main problem. In the meantime I am just enjoying running again but being mindful of my knees.
