Its been a while since I have posted, so my apologies summer had me extra busy between work, surfing, training for the Stump Jump trail run and training for the Portland Marathon.
Last Sunday I had the great opportunity to participate in my first ever trail run called the Stump Jump put on by Rock/Creek a great store in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not only had I never done a trail run but I had never been to Tennessee and Chattanooga is a beautiful city with great food, I had a great time there!
I ended up doing this event thanks to Territory Run Co. a really great Portland based brand and I really appreciate the opportunity they gave me. The trail run itself was very technical lots of boulders, stumps, rocks, branches, and beautiful views. It was an interesting experience to look for the ribbons that would guide me in the correct direction and look out for all the natural obstacles. I fell once! Sorry guy behind me! I had so much fun I have been inspired to do the Mt. Hood 50k in July put on by Go Beyond Racing!
I promise to write more frequently again. Portland Marathon is my next event and it is just 4 days away.......
Here are some great pictures which were provided for free from the Stump Jump 10 Miler.
