In a month I will be an Lima 70.3 Ironman finisher! I feel like I have been putting in the training and staying focused on the goal even though there have been some challenges mostly weather related.
I feel like my nutrition is on point and it has been amazing how GLUKOS (www.glukosenergy.com) has kept me powered through the workouts. In general I tend to have a hard time consuming these kinds of nutrition products in general but with GLUKOS the flavors are great and they go down easy and have not caused any stomach cramps at all! I have been using a combination of the dummies, energy tablets, and energy powder. If you have not given GLUKOS a try yet I highly recommend them, it truly has been a game changer for me.
Post run I have been using Sunshine Dairy's Sunshine Power. It is amazing! Shortly after drinking it I can feel myself regaining energy and not feeling as fatigued. It is also good if you are on the run and need a quick "meal" So thanks to Sunshine Dairy and GLUKOS for all your help!
Swim is feeling good was able to swim 1.2 miles on my second week of training in about 32 minutes. I'm lucky I have always been a good swimmer. Too bad you can't really win a triathlon in the swim!
Bike I am not so confident about. I have not been able to ride too much outside due to weather conditions so have been spending most of my time doing trainer workouts. Trainer workouts are not ideal but it is better than nothing. Also the bike is also my least favorite part and I am not as good on the bike as I am on the swim and run so I am a little concerned about this come race day.
Run I am feeling good about have been keeping up the distances at a good endurance pace even going beyond the distance since I am also training for the Eugen Marathon which is exactly two weeks after the Lima 70.3 Ironman. Its important to not feel overconfident in this area especially since I will be running a half marathon after swimming 1.2 miles and biking 56.
All in all pretty happy with the progress over the last few months the event is coming up so soon!
