On Sunday I participated in the Foot Traffic Holiday Half Marathon. It was a hard but fun race mostly flat. It starts and finishes at the Adidas USA campus.
I did this race five years ago, just weeks before Las Primas opened I remembered having a good time so I decided this would be a good race to participate in especially to train and maintain 13.1 fitness in preparation of the Lima Half Ironman. This is a picture of me five years ago I ran the whole race holding that candy cane. This year not so much.
The race went well overall the roads were nice and clear especially after the ice storm earlier in the week. At mile 8 I got a very bad IT band pain and I had to stop and stretch it it for a few miles. When you look at the stats you can see how much it slowed me down. I have to remember that stretching out and Icing are a very important part of the training and to not be lazy with that. As I type this I am icing!
Thanks for the Apricot cider Atlas!
Here are the stats for today and some pictures. Also thank you GreenLayer for the cool shirts.
